From a Shed to Selectrite

A Family Business Built on Service

Every business starts somewhere, and ours started in a shed in the original founder Mark’s back garden. Thankfully, we’ve upgraded slightly since then!

Selectrite started with one man and one product, the MK2 Door Coordinator. What began as a small operation went on to see the MK2 distributed globally across well-known projects, helping build strong relationships within the industry. Although we’ve grown since those early days, we’re still very much a small family-run business. Today, the company is run by the founder’s daughter, Charlotte, and son-in-law, Mark, who continue to grow the business, while staying true to its family roots and personal approach. That’s something we’re really proud of.

The door hardware industry moves fast, and we know no one has time to sit waiting for answers or chase updates. Projects are time sensitive, specifications change, and sometimes things don’t go perfectly, that’s just reality, but what matters to us is how those situations are handled.

If there’s an issue, we believe clear communication and finding solutions quickly, means your door hardware supply doesn’t leave you with a headache. We’d always rather have an honest conversation and help find a solution than leave customers chasing for answers.

Over the last year, we’ve continued growing our offering within the door hardware industry, supporting customers with product supply, sourcing support, and an approachable, dedicated, human service. Read more here.

“Being a smaller company means we care about the details. We care about answering the phone, getting back to people quickly, keeping customers updated, and making things as easy as possible”.

Charlotte Lockley, CEO

As we continue to grow, our aim is simple, keep building the business and product range while holding onto the same values it was built on from the beginning:

• Good service

• Good stock

• Reliable, compliant products

• An honest and personal approach

• Strong relationships

We may not be running the business from a shed anymore, but the values it was built on haven’t changed.
